The
wizard then asks for a Friendly Name to represent
the profile. Once you enter your desired name and
click next, you will be given four choice to set the
way how your system will react when your SecuriKey
token is removed. Basically, all four choices will
disable your computer from being accessed without
the key. It's simply a matter of preference of how
you want to disable your computer. The wizard recommends
locking your computer by default.
During
the test, I unplugged my SecuriKey token after finishing
up with the setup. My system went blank, and a dialog
box popped up saying the workstation (system) is locked.
At this point, my computer was literally locked from
any forms of access. Clicking Ctrl-Alt-Delete shows
a dialog box asking the SecuriKey to be inserted to
regain access. After inserting the token, the dialog
box disappears and your Windows XP/2000 login prompt
shows up and asks for your system password. As you
can see, the SecuriKey redifines the meaning of the
term "key" for computers, and prevents
unwanted access to your system and your files.
