Logitech® Pocket Digital™
Unfortunately, the ease
of taking pictures with such a small camera does come
with a price. The camera does not support any zoom
functions, and it is rather difficult to point the
camera at what you want to shoot without a crosshair
in the window. The camera is so compact that it does
not have room for a built-in flash, and Logitech’s
answer to this is the Autobrite technology which is
supposed to handle the exposure nicely. We have tried
taking pictures in both indoor and outdoor environments.

As
you can see from the pictures here, the Pocket Digital
suffers the problem of most low end digital cameras.
It simply produces horrible results indoors without
proper lighting. We tried using our high voltage lightings
to brightly lit our room, and the results were still
quite unpleasant. I must note that the picture taking
button up top is a little too stiff, which makes it
rather difficult to hold the camera perfectly still
when taking pictures. Taking outdoor pictures with
the Pocket Digital again produces poor results. The
color balance is simply not very well handled, and
again it has a problem with proper exposure. I suppose
I could go on and take a few more pictures under dimly
lit environment or under normal room lighting, but
it's only going to further disappoint you.

The
installation of this camera is as easy as it gets.
Windows XP easily recognizes the camera as soon as
it’s plugged in, and the driver CD provides
you a very nice and easy to use interface to help
you with downloading the pictures to your computer.
Logitech has lived up to its standard with the user
friendliness of its products.
