For less than a hundred bucks, the Altec Lansing 251 is definitely a steal for its quality. I highly doubt you could find a better package anywhere with at this price range. If you’re looking for an upgrade from your old 2 speaker system, or looking to get your foot into the door of 5.1, this would definitely be your choice. Altec Lansing put together a versatile value package that is suitable for music, gaming, and DVD playback. It’s just hard not to love these speakers.

Pros: compact, versatile, well designed, rich sound. Excellent value.
Cons: I’m a little worried about the wires of the front left and rear speakers that are a little flimsy.
